The NuVAX solutions provide a complete plug-and-play replacement system for your VAX utilizing VAX emulator supported on QNX, a real time operating system and fully complies with the HP hardware and software warranty requirements for the transfer of HP VAX/VMS software from existing VAX systems. The NuVAX emulates 64 MB VAX memory and provides 12 empty VAX disk images pre-installed and ready for applications.

VAX on a Board
NuVAX Model 1000 is a brand new processor that replaces your VAX processor, memory, disks and tape drives in the VAX chassis. Your applications are transferred onto NuVAX’s self-contained hard drive and run without modification with VAX emulation software. Existing specialized Qbus controllers and equipment are supported without any configuration changes.

NuVAX 1000 is a replacement card that drops into an existing MicroVAX chassis, replacing the VAX CPU, memory, disk controller, and tape controller. It preserves the existing QBUS and its associated devices. The model 1000 is essentially a modern upgrade to your existing VAX system. This model is suited for applications embedded in computer bays where packaging and cabling changes are not practical. The Model 1000 allows you to retain your VAX chassis, Qbus controllers, and cables.

VAX Replacement System
The NuVAX model 3000 is a complete physical replacement for the existing VAX systems, slow memory, and hard to maintain discs and tapes with a modern system that can run the existing application software and replace the DEC I/O interfaces with new PCI bus equivalents. The NuVAX3000 consists of a PC platform with ECC memory, a redundant power supply and other server-like capabilities for increased hardware reliability. This system has OpenVMS-compatible CD-ROM and floppy disk devices Preinstalled. It also supports Fast Ethernet adapters for 100 Mbps network connections to other systems using Open VMS network protocols like DECnet and TCP/IP. The NuVAX 3000 certified I/O option modules consist of the DRQ3B, DRV11-WA, DRV11-J, IEC625 and the IEEE488.
